Durst Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification
CLINTON, Wis. — The Durst division of Regal Beloit Corporation recently announced that the manufacturing facility’s quality management system has been independently audited and confirmed as conforming with the latest certification standard of the International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001:2008. Durst achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification after an extensive analysis of its quality systems by NSF International, a leader in standards development, product certification, education and risk management for public health and safety.
For many companies, ISO 9001:2008 certification is a key to securing and maintaining global business. More and more organizations require ISO 9001:2008 certification of their suppliers. To become certified, a company must demonstrate consistent delivery of a product or service, as well as regular efforts to improve its offerings.
The ISO 9001:2008 standard emphasizes quality management principles for establishing a continuous improvement environment. ISO 9001:2008 focuses on customer satisfaction, management responsibility and organizational performance measurement. Companies that fully adopt the quality management principles have proved to be more cost-effective, efficient and resilient to change. Their customer support organizations typically have the ability to meet expectations and improve upon customer satisfaction.
Including the Durst division, 30 global Regal Beloit sites are now registered to ISO 9001:2008 using the Regal Beloit quality management system.
“Diligence and hard work played a big role in achieving this certification for Durst,” according to Bernie Nielsen, Vice President and General Manager. “Excellence must be an ongoing pursuit involving all stages of our design, development and production processes. As a quality standard that is recognized and respected throughout the world, ISO 9001:2008 represents the commitment of the entire company to deliver quality products with the goal of total customer satisfaction. That commitment differentiates us from the competition and provides our customers with further confidence in their decision to partner with Durst. With a solid, reliable framework of quality procedures in place, Durst can continue to strengthen our relationship with a growing base of global customers and respond more quickly to evolving business needs and market requirements.”
