Scott Filzen Named Engineering Manager at Durst

CLINTON, Wis. — The Durst/Mastergear engineering team consists of creative, talented people who get the job done because they are excited about developing new applications that make a difference in equipment used around the world. Durst looks for team-oriented leaders with great technical and motivational skills.

Scott Filzen brings those qualities and more to his new role as Engineering Manager for the mechanical specialty geared product businesses.

With more than 20 years of progressive engineering and business experience, Scott is responsible for leading staff engineers in the mechanical technology team in product strategy planning, new product development, application engineering, and manufacturing and sales support. His experience and product design engineering capability provide Durst with a leader who can direct the development of new technology for serving the application requirements of Durst’s expanding OEM and distributor customers. He reports to Dave Brick, Director of Technology-Mechanical.

Most recently, Scott spent 12 years at W.A. Whitney in Rockford, Ill., as Director of Engineering and Customer Service. Whitney manufactures cutting and forming equipment for the metal plate fabrication market. Its products serve the global transportation, agricultural and construction equipment industries. Scott also served as Director of Operations and Group Engineering Manager while at Whitney. Before that, he was Senior Program Manager at Beloit Corp., a world leader in papermaking machinery.

Scott earned a Master of Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
